Whether you have just started your business or own an established one, knowing how to handle your accounts is one of the most essential skills for any entrepreneur. However, numbers aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. This is where QuickBooks training comes in.

QuickBooks is a full-featured business and financial management suite that includes all essential tools for accounting, invoicing, tax filing, payroll, reconciliation, bank account tracking, expense management, payment processing, budgeting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management.

Here are 3 Key QuickBooks Lessons That You Should Know

1. Slow Connection

A slow internet connection can hinder your business process at any point during the day. This can be due to hardware issues. In such cases, when using your QuickBooks in multi-user mode, consider increasing the RAM size and hard disk space to improve performance.

However, if there’s no hardware concern, a slow connection can result from problematic or corrupted data files. In such a case, either run the Cleanup Company Data Tool or turn off the Audit Trail Feature.

2. Lost Administrator Password

Although it’s not ideal to forget or lose your password, it can and does happen. Therefore, if you cannot access the administrative panel of QuickBooks, use the Automated Password Reset tool to reset your password in a few steps.

3. Moving Locked Data Files to Another Location

When copying or moving QuickBooks data files to a removable device or external hard drive, you might notice that the QuickBooks Server Manager and Directory Monitor have encrypted and locked the files. In such a case, you get a pop-up on your screen that says that the file cannot be opened while instructing you to ensure that the file isn’t open in another program.

In this situation, start by ensuring that your QuickBooks software is up-to-date. Next, restart your device as well as the program. Now select “Run as Administrator. This will allow you to move locked QuickBooks files from one location to another.
