The most ineffective marketing strategy is no marketing strategy at all! With that said, wasting your money on unsuccessful or outdated methods isn’t the answer. If you want to get the most out of your marketing efforts, there are a few things to know and mistakes to avoid making.

  1. Keyword stuffing – Keyword stuffing is when you “stuff” a word or phrase into a paragraph as many times as you can to help a site rank higher on a search engine. This tactic used to work, but Google doesn’t put up with it anymore and will actually penalize you. Keywords are vital for SEO, but make sure you use them in moderation.
  2. Ignoring marketing trends – If you aren’t keeping up with the trends, your dental practice will suffer. The dental industry is growing quickly, resulting in a highly saturated marketplace, so it’s important to have an up-to-date marketing strategy. Keep up with the state of dental patient marketing and adjust your marketing strategy accordingly.
  3. Holding onto an outdated website – Your website is a great way to bring in new patients. But if your website is out of date or poorly designed, it can be more harmful than not having a website at all.
  4. Not tracking results – Lastly, if you don’t track and analyze the results of your dental marketing strategy, you won’t be able to recognize which methods are useful and which are not. If you’re not tracking results, you may end up spending money on efforts that aren’t helping your dental practice at all.

Having a good marketing plan in place is an important part of your ability to bring in new patients. If you’re struggling with the profitability of your practice, it may be time to adjust your marketing efforts.
